Aldershot Town Football Club, based in Aldershot, England, was founded in the spring of 1992 just after the closure of debt-ridden fourth division club Aldershot F.C., who had been founded in 1926 and had been league members since 1932. They play at the Recreation Ground in Aldershot. In 2003-04 they came close to promotion to the Football League when they reached the Conference playoff final, losing on penalties to Shrewsbury Town.
