Description

Anna Maria Jopek (born 14 December 1970 in Warsaw) is a Polish musician and singer. She represented her country in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest, and in 2002, she collaborated on an album with jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her music, including Michel Legrand's Personal Award in Witebsk in 1994, as well as all of the awards for music in Poland, together with gold and platinum records. However, she has said: "Music itself is the highest award for me. And the greatest challenge. With so many questions remaining to be answered". She took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 and finished 11th out of 25 participating acts. She's married to Marcin Kydryński and has two children.

Anna Maria Jopek is the daughter of famed Mazowsze singer Stanislaw Jopek (1935-2006), who is known as the "First Coachman of Poland" for his signature song "Furman" (The Coachman), and former Mazowsze dancer Maria Stankiewicz. Her 1999 Christmas CD, "Dzisiaj z Betleyem" features two duets with her famous father. Anna Maria's sister, Patricja is a well known concert violinist, who has performed on TV programs like Poland's Dancing with the Stars.
