CA Peñarol
Description
Club Atlético Peñarol is a traditional football team in Montevideo, Uruguay,the most important in the country both in titles and number of followers. Peñarol as such was officially named on December 13th, 1913 by former members of the English "Central Uruguay Railway Cricket Club" (CURCC). CURCC itself was founded on September 28, 1891. It's a three-times World Champion football club.
Peñarol is named after its home neighborhood, which in turn takes its name from the town of Pinerolo, Italy.
Peñarol's colors, yellow and black, derive from the colors used in railway signs and barriers.
