Chorley
Description
Chorley F.C. are a football club from Chorley, Lancashire, England. They were founded as a rugby club in 1875 but switched to association football in 1883. They have reached the FA Cup second round twice in 1986/87 and 1990/91. Their best performance in the FA Trophy was in 1995-96 when they reached the semi-final. They are currently playing in the Northern Premier League Division One North for the 2007-08 season.
They play at the Chorley Nissan Victory Park, Chorley in Chorley, Lancashire and are owned by Pontins owner Trevor Hemmings. Gerry Luczka succeeded ex Everton, Bolton and England Schoolboys player Paul Lodge as manager in October 2006.
The Hemmings Group announced in 2006 that they were withdrawing their financial support for the club.
For the 2006-2007 season they are sponsored by KC Couriers (North West) engineering.
In 2007 the Chorley Nissan Group became a major sponsor of Chorley FC. As a result the ground name was changed to Chorley Nissan Victory Park, Chorley
Chorley Nissan Victory Park, Chorley was used by Daisy Hill and Atherton Laburnum Rovers during 2006, whenever they played FC United, as their grounds were not large enough to cope with the high number of FC United supporters.
Chorleys biggest attendance for over 10 years was on 29/09/07 when they faced FC United. 1,736 people turned up to watch the game.
