Ebbsfleet United Football Club is an English football team currently playing in the Football Conference. The team plays their home matches at Stonebridge Road in Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent. However, the club is now looking to build a new stadium in the Ebbsfleet Valley vicinity in Gravesham, England.
Prior to May 2007 the club was called Gravesend & Northfleet. The change was announced at a public consultation meeting on the evening of 1 May 2007. The club is sponsored by Eurostar, whose trains serve Ebbsfleet International railway station.
In November 2007, the web-based venture MyFootballClub announced they had reached an agreement, pending due diligence and a members' vote, for the purchase of the club. If successful, its ownership and management would become unique in English football, as MyFootballClub members are expected to vote on team selection and player transfers, instead of those decisions being made by the club's management and staff as at all other clubs.
