Description
FC Naftovyk Okhtyrka is a Ukrainian football club based in Okhtyrka, where it was founded in 1980. Its home stadium, Naftovyk, has capacity of 10 500. For the 2007-08 season, the club will be taking part in the Ukrainian Premier League under the name FC Naftovyk-Ukrnafta Okhtyrka after achieving promotion from Persha Liha during the previous season. Also it's going to play its home games in Sumy on the stadium, Yuvileinyi (Jubilee), that used to belong to Spartak as its home ground doesn't meet the required criteria for the Premier League and the European competitions. The club is planning to upgrade its stadium in near future. Naftovyk Okhtyrka took part in the first Ukrainian Premier League season in 1992, after being initially chosen to participate for being one of the top 2 Ukrainian teams from 1st Zone of the Soviet Second League B in 1991. Naftovyk Okhtyrka took 8th place in its group that season and was demoted to the Persha Liha as a result.
