Great Yarmouth Town
Description
Great Yarmouth Town F.C. are a football club based in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, England. They were established in 1897 and were the founder members of the Eastern Counties Football League in 1935. They have reached the 2nd round of the FA Cup at least twice in their history. They are currently playing in the Eastern Counties Football League Division One.
Nicknamed "The Bloaters", they currently play at the Wellesley Recreation Ground, which is owned by the local council. They play in an amber & black striped jersey, black shorts and amber stockings. The old grandstand[http://www.runtrackdir.com/uk/pics/greatyarmouth/greatyarmouth-sr_hs-c640.jpg] at the Wellesley Recreation Ground (also known as "The Well") is the world's oldest football stand in regular use, having been opened on 11 June 1892. However, there is some contention about this, of which Wolverton A.F.C. also lay claim to but this stand is now derelict.
In 2006 Great Yarmouth Town's youth team reached the 2nd round of the FA Youth Cup.
