Neath Athletic A.F.C.
Description
Neath Athletic Football Club is a Welsh association football team founded in 2005 following the merger between two clubs, Neath (formerly BP Llandarcy A.F.C.) and Skewen Athletic. The team is based in Neath and played in the Welsh Football League First Division during the season 2006-07. The home ground is Llandarcy Park. On 3rd May 2007, Neath Athletic were crowned champions and subsequently it was confirmed that the club had been promoted to the League of Wales for the 2007-08 season.
The President of the club is Peter Hain M.P. currently Secretary of State for Wales, as well as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. The Life Vice-President is David Maddock who has been associated with the club and its predecessors (as player, committeeman, and secretary) for 54 years.
