Description
Shrewsbury Town Football Club are an English football club currently playing in Football League Two, the fourth tier of English football. They have played in all of the bottom three rungs of the Football League in their various guises.
The club was promoted back to the Football League in 2004 at the first attempt, when they won the Conference playoff final. They had previously been relegated into the fifth tier from what was then called the Third Division (fourth tier) in 2003. In the 2006-07 season, they reached the first ever play-off final at the new Wembley Stadium, only to lose 3-1 to Bristol Rovers.
